Merry Christmas, Addie Sue. Thank you, honey bunny sweet Addie Sue, for all of your drawings in Grandma Sue’s newspaper. I look forward to seeing you at Christmas. I’m sure glad there’s a train that runs between here and Tioga! So far there are no presents under my Christmas tree but by the time you get here with Gunnar and your mom and dad, they should be piled high. Grandma always has to get this issue of the Gazette done before she thinks about shopping or Christmas cards. Did you know that your little cousin Sophie is going to be a big sister? Your Uncle Nick told us on Thanksgiving Day. There was, and is, so much to be thankful for. Love you. Grandma Sue
Girl Scout Troop 10111 will be collecting stuffed animals for children at Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis. A box will be placed at the Girl Scout Boutique at the Chaska High School to collect new and gently used stuffed animals. Everyone is invited to the Boutique on Saturday, December 5th, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Chaska High School. Please note that this is a new location this year. The Girl Scout Boutique has been a popular shopping experience for many years. The Boutique is a special shopping place for the whole family. The Girl Scouts offer a “kids only” shopping area with hundreds of items priced at $3 and under. There is also a Craft and Bake Sale area for all ages. There will be Girl Scout shopper helpers available for the youngest of shoppers. Four of the twelve girls -- Lilly Even, Megan Theis, Alissa Roemer, Rachel Webster -- joined Troop 10111 at the beginning of the year and are working toward their bronze award. The girls have spent many hours working closely with Sharing and Caring Hands and feel it is the perfect fit to tie in with the Girl Scout Boutique. They have done an excellent job and are well on their way to earning their reward. Sharing and Caring Hands was established to be a bridge from the caring concerned community to the people in need of their help. They receive no government or United Way funding and rely solely on donations to do their work. Every year the donations of goods, services, time, and money by thousands of people allow Sharing and Caring Hands to make a difference in the lives of individuals, families, and children in need. Girl Scout Troop 10111 is making tomorrow a better place. They are a dedicated group of girls from the surrounding area who love helping out the community.
