To the Editor: My name is Pete Holzer. I have met you before on a few occasions because of my Victoria ties. I married a Schmieg and we got married at St. Victoria. I also own an ad agency and placed ads with you a few years back. I have a client in the Chanhassen/Exelsior area that I spoke to about your paper for 2010. I am meeting with them next week. Could you please email me your rate card by Monday? Thanks, Sue. Have a great Thanksgiving. Pete Holzer Jordan, Minnesota
To the Editor: Fresh Seasons. Two beautiful words and one wonderful store. We have waited so very long for a grocery store in Victoria. We finally have been blessed with one and we can’t say enough good things about it. The staff is fantastic and they help to look for lost car keys, help finds things we can’t find on the shelf, and write down what we would like to see on the shelf in the future. Their ‘Our Family’ brand is so good. Dave won’t eat frozen vegetables so we tried the Our Family brand, and the string beans were so packed in the can they almost jumped out at us upon opening. They are delicious as are the many other canned items. We are all used to our own brands and going to “our own” stores over the years, and it is hard to change our ways. Needless to say, there are many many bargains at Fresh Seasons and fresh fruit to die for. Even the free cup of coffee and the inexpensive lunches are worth a trip in itself. The deli has such an assortment that it is hard to choose. We don’t eat a lot of meat at our age, but I can hardly wait to fix the pork ribs and sauerkraut and we aren’t even German. Please support our store. Thanks, Fresh Seasons, for sharing so much in the community of all your good food. Dave and Loretta Kocka Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Happy Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for your faithful publication of our community newspaper. Gina Eaton Waterbrooke Fellowship Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: This is kind of a courtesy email. Dale, the owner of Fresh Seasons was in the salon recently. We were shooting the breeze about Victoria. I asked how business was going and he said that he is not even breaking even at his store, which does not surprise me. I have never seen it real busy and I am there weekly. I just know what an excellent grocery store they are, and their quality rivals Byerly’s. If Victoria does not give more support to his business, he will be forced to close down. That would truly be a shame. If he succeeds, it does nothing but help the community. The more taxes he pays to the city, the better off is everyone. Not to mention that the store is a draw for prospective home buyers as well. I just thought you may want to know. I have been doing more shopping there to do my part to help the community I work in. I know their prices are higher than Cub in some cases, but I do almost all of my produce shopping there. I have never had any questionable fruits or veggies. They also have superior meat. Also, their store brand prices are not bad. If you want Fresh Seasons to stay open, please forward this on to all the Victoria people that you think would want them to succeed. I asked his permission to send this because it is apparently no secret that he is really hurting. It makes me realize how important it is to be supportive of our community. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Beth Zimmerman Salon Spatoria Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: For reasons both economic and civic, Fresh Seasons Market must succeed in Victoria. This is not a test and the outcome lies in the hands of Victoria’s citizens. We must pull together or we will lose a core community asset. Jim Paulsen Victoria City Councilmember Victoria, Minnesota
