The Victoria GAZETTE |
To the Editor: What a fantastic story about Kieth and Joan Geske! Theirs is a wonderful story and I am glad you got it in the Gazette. I sang in the choir at Lake Auburn Moravian Church and sat next to Joan in the alto section, and participated in many of the same activities at the church. Also, thank you to Ron Holtmeier for telling young students at Victoria Elementary School about the “old Victoria school.” I went there for grades 1-8 with Ron’s sister, Carol. Thank you again for a great paper. Carol (Schwalbe) Pratt Tower, Minnesota
To the Editor: Greetings! I want to thank you, again, for the support of our business and the support of the entire business community of Victoria. The Business Bannister idea is very appreciated and thoughtful on your part. Sue, you are a real credit to the community. I appreciate you. Dale T. Riley, President Fresh Seasons Market Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: As I read your last Gazette, I noticed that your front page is dated November 2010, but your inside pages have October 2010. Any reason for that? Or just an error? Keep up the good job that you do. Can’t find the fishhook this last time. Did you put one in? Best wishes. Marie Otten Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: The end of 2010 is coming soon. The four summer months we get go fast and all of a sudden it’s the twelfth month. Change the clocks an hour back, get the snowplow and shovels ready, hunt up the boots, hats, and gloves, coats, and scarves. If you grew up in a big family with 7 boys and 3 girls, you might have had a shelf with each kid’s name below their boots. We had such a setup at home but it only fit seven kids. My sister Julie, myself, and my little brother Gerry were not part of the boot shelf. We parked them by the living room register on an old rug. There was a broom by the front door and the back door to sweep off the snow and road sand before going in. The sidewalk salt would make pock marks on the linoleum. After a Saturday afternoon of sledding, Mom made a grocery bag full of popcorn and she’d fix cocoa or sloppy joes. Then we’d sit in the bathtub until the skin got pruned while Mom watched Lawrence Welk and Hee Haw. Merry Christmas, everyone. Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: I went through the paper five times and could not find where you hid the fishhook!! December 3rd will be two years since my brother Jerome was killed in Chaska. Remember him in a prayer. Hope everyone will have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Did anyone find the fishhook? Great if they did. Ethel Schneider Shakopee, Minnesota
To the Editor: I just read the Gazette and was so surprised to see that you pulled my name out of your minnow bucket last month! Thanks. I’ll be looking for the $10, and the way the gas is headed up it will come in handy. Marlys Timm Loretto, Minnesota
