To the Editor:

Zig Ziglar passed away on November 28th, 2012, at the age of 86.  He helped me in the late 1970's.  What a fine man!  I'm sending you many of his sayings, some of them my favorite.

         Janie Jasin

         Victoria, Minnesota

EDITOR'S NOTE:  Thank you, Janie.  I will intersperse those quotes throughout this issue of the Gazette.  My sympathy to you and others who knew and were influenced by Zig Ziglar.

To the Editor:

Can you believe it is almost Christmas?  Just wanted to ask if you would forward the Gazette to our Florida address.  Would love to receive it from January through May.  It is so great to receive the news from Victoria and surrounding area while we are away.  You really cover all the important issues and do such a wonderful job.

I wrote you last year about a grandmother time to brag about her grandchildren.  Well, this was another special year.  Our granddaughter Kayla Lindeman, diving for Holy Family Catholic High School in Victoria, had a very successful year.  She took Gold in Conference and Gold in Sections.  This qualified her for State.  There were 32 divers competing in the Class A schools.  Kayla took 9th Place.  Congratulations, Kayla.  Kayla is the daughter of our daughter Linda and her husband Tim.)

Honorable mentioned goes to our son Jim Fritz who coaches a Wayzata baseball team.  He took his team to Cooperstown, NY, in July for the Invitational Tournament for 12-year olds.  What an amazing opportunity for those young boys.

Thanks, Sue, and I wish you many of God's blessings for all you do for Victoria.

To the Editor:

I was thankful I had clothes when I was cold, food when I was hungry, music when I wanted to sing, books when I wanted to read, a church when I needed to pray, friends when I needed someone to be close so, if only for a moment, I could feel like a normal person again.

How can I repay people for love and friendship, for help and ideas, for time and effort?  I found myself caught up in the labyrinth of rush, interruptions, busyness, and never-ending projects and goals.

Days, months, years go by so fast.  Too fast.  Today I woke up with this awful feeling in my heart.  These words screamed at me from my conscience.  "What about your friends?  Do you remember them?  Are you thankful for everything they've done for you?"

So, two days before this wonderful day of our country's traditions, Thanksgiving, I am attempting to clear my conscience and do what I need to do more often and wholeheartedly.

I thank you, for opening the door to America for me, so I can attempt to live my best life and create a better future for my two daughters, Monika (22) and Ania (17).  I thank you for being my friend, so I feel that I belong here in America.

I thank you for supporting my dreams so I can also "fly to the moon" and feel that I matter, so we can all fly to our moons!  I thank you from the bottom of my heart, a heart too often beating to the wrong rhythm instead of the rhythm of love, friendship, and hope.  I appreciate you very much.

         With love,

To the Editor:

Our son Steve Eischens and his Jr. Rolling Timberwolves wheelchair basketball team will be providing a demonstration of their sport on Tuesday, December 4th, during halftime of the boys varsity basketball game which starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Chanhassen High School.  Steve and his teammates will be showcasing their talent with an intersquad scrimmage.

I would love it if you could come.  Do you remember when you wrote a story on Steve and his brother Scott when they were in kindergarten?  Now they are juniors at Chan High School, and their brother John is a freshman in college.  Wow!

And did you know that Karel Oddo, who lives in Victoria, has recently published her own cookbook?  Just thought she might be an interesting one to interview for the Gazette.  I just met her in October when we were volunteering together at Chan High School and I bought one of her cookbooks and just love it.  Simple yet tasty recipes and a nice variety.

Still lovin' your Gazette.  Hope all is well.  Love ya.
