To the Editor: Happy Holidays to all! After looking for two days to find your fishhook, I finally came across it on page 47 in the Coopers-town photo. You certainly can hide it! Ethel Schneider Shakopee, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Love the Victoria Gazette. How fun doing the crossword puzzle. The Twins first manager was Cookie Lavagelto, not Sam Mele. Jerry Albrecht Watertown, Minnesota
To the Editor: Always enjoy getting the Gazette the first of the month. You had a question at the end of your editorial in the November. My answer to your question, "Did anyone notice when it began to change?" is during the days of Watergate. Thank you. John White Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: The fishhook is hidden in the "P" of the Cooperstown photo on page 47. Thanks for a paper filled with enjoyment. Donna Williams Eden Prairie, Minnesota
To the Editor: I received your check in the mail for last month's fishhook. Thank you. My church, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waconia, has a monthly collection for the Waconia Food shelf and I will be donating "your money" this Saturday. By the way, "Bernie Joos" is really "Bernadette" but only my parents call me that. Your November issue is packed full of great information for local elections. Bernie Joos Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: Merry Christmas to one and all of the 4,600 households full of fans of the Victoria Gazette. I can see my mom getting ready to put on her Santa suit and be Rosie Claus. Yes, readers, my mom wore many hats of all aspects, and one hat she wore was Santa's. Every Christmas Eve from the early 1960's until 1989 she cruised around in her eight-cylinder Buick LeSabre sleigh or a Dodge or an Oldsmobile before that. Her last sleigh, the LeSabre, had red plush seats and a rear window defogger, AM-FM stereo, mag wheels, silver exterior, and the driver seat was adjustable by pressing a button. Her previous Buck LeSabre was a 1970 and it was going bad. I saw an ad for the 1977 and it was her 60th birthday and 40th anniversary in 1987. She was in her glory. It had nicknames like The Bingo Buggy as she took grannies from Talheim Apartments to Guardian Angels bingo when it was held. On Sundays for church, it was the Holy Roller, same deal, taking grannies to church. When she went to the now defunct berry patch at Carver, it was the Berry Boat. There she picked berries for grannies at Talheim as well as herself, In 1989 she didn't do Santa as she broke her arm the night before Thanksgiving. In 1990 she was diagnosed with lung and bone cancer. I remember her in the backyard saying she didn't have much of a future because of the lung cancer. Bone cancer was found later. When I was about 7 years old, Mom dressed as Santa and came to our front door, says Merry Christmas, and my little brother Gerry, who was 4 at the time, says, "Hi, Mom."
