Love in a Dog’s World continued |
♥ Cathy Schultz of Victoria loves Cougar, her 3 and 1/2 year old Yellow Lab, because “he has a lot of energy and he’s a good companion,” she said. “I like him. Actually, I love him. There’s so much to love about him. I love that he has energy. He loves the dog park, as you can see, because he’s not on a leash and he can run hard. It’s nice exercise for him, and I walk the perimeter of the park so it’s nice exercise for me, too. I like that the park is very open and also woodsy.” Cathy visits the Victoria Dog Park about twice a week for about 45 minutes to an hour on each visit, depending on how cold it is. What about the name Cougar? “My brother’s kids wanted to name him Master Hunter but we settled for Cougar,” said Cathy. “He’s a bird dog.” |
♥ Kari Metz of Victoria loves her Portuguese Waterdogs, Porter, 5, and Bella, 3, for several reasons. “Have you got a couple hours?” she asked. “They’re our children. They have the best temperament. They are really sweet. They have high energy. They give unconditional love. They are playful. They don’t shed. They’re hypo-allergenic.” Kari, whose husband is Carver County Attorney Mark Metz, also said good things about the Victoria Dog Park, which she visits for about an hour four or five times a week. “It’s wonderful,” she stated. “They keep it clean. They provide the poopy bags. It seems that responsible pet owners go here. It’s a social scene. Otherwise the dogs drive us crazy at home. I used to walk the trails with them and when I stumbled upon this dog park it was the best day of my life.”
