You might remember that we were cautioned some years ago to limit the amount of salmon we consumed from the Great Lakes because of the high mercury content. And yet they put mercury in vaccinations and call it a preservative rather than a poison. What brings this to mind? I just heard this morning on the news that there is a 1,000% increase in autism in the last 40 years. My opinion is that if people would connect the dots rather than the dollars, there'd be less disease. Did I say dollars? Ten of them are going to Jill Norlander of Mound since her name was drawn from the minnow bucket this month. June's fishhook was hidden in the mother bear's paw on the Century Wine ad on page 8. Congratulations, Jill. Your winnings will be on their way shortly. In the meantime, there's another fishhook hidden in this issue of the Gazette. If you find it, email Sue@VictoriaGazette.com telling of its location or drop a line to P.O. Box 387, Victoria, MN 55386 and sinker in the mail. If you get hooked and it draws blood, ask for a tetanus shot sans mercury. It's common sense, which we are in short supply of today. |
