To the Editor: I found the story about your journey to Davvid Kocka’s studio in Indiana and the challenge of bringing the Madonna home to be very interesting. That is a wonderful thing you have done for the community. Thank you. Sandy Rodenz Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: Your sculpture by the church looks wonderful. Thank you so much. Jamie Moore St. Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I enjoy reading about your grandchild-ren in the Gazette which makes me excited about the future. Congratulations on your new arrival. You have many faithful readers and I know they look forward to reading the whole edition cover to cover. I have only found the fishhook once, but I haven’t given up. Thank you for the Gazette. It is a very unique and treasured part of life in Victoria. I remember when we first moved to town and discovered the paper. It has become a good friend to spend time with each month. See you soon. Kim Roden Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Enclosed is $20 for my subscription renewal. I sold my house in Chaska and moved into my apartment in Bloomington on June 1st, 1988. At that time my good friend Juanita Glowatzke called me and told me she was sending me a “unique publication” that she thought I would enjoy, the Victoria Gazette, and indeed I have, for 22 years. I have looked forward to each and every issue, and each issue continues to get better and better, and for that I thank you. I have watched your family grow from babies to adults, and now your precious grandchildren. I am fortunate to have in my life seven great grandchildren and each one so special. I spent almost four months of the winter in Las Vegas with my family. There I celebrated my 88th birthday so I am in my autumn years. I thank you again for the “unique publication” that my friend thought I would enjoy. Virginia Leivermann Bloomington, Minnesota
To the Editor: I just want to add my two-cents to your discussion concerning the plural of “attorney general.” You could have settled the matter by giving the definition of “attorney general” and not simply the word “general,” as given in the American Heritage Dictionary (third edition) where we read: attorney general n., pl. attorneys general or attorney generals. I would add this explanation from Webster’s Standard American Style Manual (p. 75): Compounds consisting of a noun followed by an adjective are regularly pluralized by adding a suffix to the noun: heir apparent, heirs apparent. If the adjective in such a compound tends to be construed as a noun, the compound may have more than one plural form: attorneys general, or attorney generals. So there was no need to “correct” you, Sue. While Mr. Katz was also correct, I think he was too inflexible in declaring you “off base.” You were right on. And, by the way, I wouldn’t mind if my “sons in law” became “attorney generals.” Jack Schneider St. Joseph, Minnesota
EDITOR’S NOTE: You’re good, Jack. (I sure miss our dear Germaine.)
To the Editor: I was driving by the church yesterday on my way to the hospital to see Kelly and saw the Ave Maria being put in place. This morning I stopped by to view her and was overcome by its beauty. It is just awesome. What a wonderful enhancement to the church entrance. It is a welcoming presence to parishioners and visitors. Thank you both for a wonderful gift to the St. Victoria Parish Family. Margaret Hanson Victoria, Minnesota
