Letters Continued

To the Editor:

Congrats to our hardworking City Council and Staff that helped Victoria receive the Governor’s Fit City award.  The LRT trail is in a perfect downtown location.  Now let’s hit the trails.

         Nan Emmer

         Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor:

I’ve attached a copy of the map we handed out at the May 10th Victoria City Council meeting.  Would you be able to print it in the paper as well as the photo?  We’ve had interest in the construction project from beyond the areas where we’ve done our project mailings, so anything else you can publish will be helpful.  If you need a simpler version of the map, I can have one made.

         Tim O’Donnell

         Sr. Information Coordinator

         Metropolitan Council Environmental

To the Editor:

Sue, I thought since you had to witness on May 10th another round of outrage from this councilmember, that you, like me, will be nothing than utterly astonished that after waiting 2  and 1/2 years -- magically -- we get resolution after my verbal tongue lashing only two days later.

It is too bad that this is what has to happen to get any due process for Pete and Ethel Nelson, two good souls who have suffered enormously as a result of mistakes made in Phase One of the Metropolitan Council Sewer Project in Victoria.

While my methods may not be popular with some of my colleagues, they do seem to get results.  I consider this part of my job even if I may not win the Miss Congeniality Award.  Believe me, if I thought I could get action being diplomatic, I would use those tactics.

Unfortunately, these people don’t appear to understand anything but force.  They have trained me to treat them in the only manner that is responsive to our residents, which is unfortunately, at times, part of my job.

         Kim Roden

         Victoria City Councilmember

To the Editor:

Well, you did it!!  It is so beautiful!  I love the color and everything about it.  The location is perfect, the writing is great, and the one you chose for the job is kinda special too.  Your online pages in Sue’s Album are fantastic, and I have looked at all of it.  I sent the click on to some out of town relatives and friends, but some couldn’t open it.  Our Tom couldn’t open it either.  It must be their kind of computer, so he went through Google and was able to get it.  Anyway, it is such a fun site.

Thank you for sharing Ave Maria with us in such a personal and wonderful way for our parish and our town.  It wouldn’t have happened without you and Allan and your love for Jesus and His Mother.  God bless you both.

         Dave and Loretta Kocka

         Victoria, Minnesota

EDITOR’S NOTE:  Hi, Loretta.  When people can’t access my website or the clicks located therein, it’s sometimes related to their Apple system.  Oftentimes it’s an Apple product that has difficulty accessing PC things.  Glad Google worked for Tom.

To the Editor:

Guess where I just returned from!  I took my bike out for the first time this season and rode over to see the Ave Maria and, girl, it was worth the trip!  She has a prominent position, greeting each person as they enter the church.  She is nice and tall.  She was definitely worth the wait.  I stopped into church and didn’t realize how much I miss the choir till I saw the choir space.

         Christine Determan

         Chaska, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Thinking readers of the Gazette will admire you for your courage in opposing the modern “cultural correctness,” and they will be grateful to you.  Rest assured, Sue, your Ave Maria statue will strengthen and convert people.  Of all the apostles, Mary is the greatest.
