Daylight Savings Time. Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, March 8th. Turn your clocks ahead in the spring and back in the fall.

St. Patrick’s Day. Everyone lays claim to the acquaintance of St. Patrick on Tuesday, March 17th.

First Day of Spring. The first day of spring this year is Friday, March 20th. Most of the time this spring equinox is observed on the 21st ... as is every other equinox ... June 21st (first day of summer), September 21st (first day of fall), December 21st (first day of winter).

Gazette Deadline. Deadline for the April issue of the Victoria Gazette is Monday, March 23rd.

Victoria City Council Meetings. Victoria City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall on Rose Street on Mondays, March 9th and 23rd. Be reminded that the new dates have become the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, rather than Thursdays.

Fresh Seasons Grand Opening. Grand Opening of Fresh Seasons Market in downtown Victoria. Saturday, April 4th, from 10 a.m.

Easter Sunday. It’s Easter Sunday on April 12th. Get your eggs in order and remember that the Victoria Lions sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids each year at Lions Park on Saturday before Easter Sunday -- whether there is sleet or snow o sunshine or all of the above.

Income Taxes. Pay them by April 15th or else!

Property Taxes. Pay them by May 15th or else!

Spring Rummage Sale. The annual spring rummage sale at St. Victoria is on schedule to be held on Thursday and Friday, May 7th and 8th.

Victoria Volksfest. Saturday, August 29th, from 8:00 a.m. to midnight in downtown Victoria.

Victoria Lions meet the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at the Victoria Hall on Rose Street at 6:30 p.m.

Victoria Chamber of Commerce meets on an irregular basis.

Victoria Senior Citizens meet weekly on Thursdays at the Acorn House in Diethelm Park.

Victoria American Legion meets monthly. Established in 1995. Call Dan Steinhagen, Carver County Veterans Officer, for more information.

Victoria Toastmasters meet the second and fourth Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.
