The Victoria GAZETTE |
To the Editor: Love your paper. After many years, I think I may have found the fishhook. I think it's by the handle of the pitcher in the ad for the Lions Pancake Breakfast. Isabel Kroening Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: My business partner and I will be going to Chaska Middle School West to do a presentation on starting a company. We recently visited Edina schools and the Edina Sun Current did a great write-up on the event in their paper and we have received a lot of positive feedback from the community. My business partner lives in Edina and I live here in Victoria in Deer Run. We will be visiting Mrs. Cooper's class. Do you think someone from the Gazette would want to cover this and maybe do a similar report on the event? We started this company for kids and we are using their feedback to help guide the company imagery and products. Jesse Parker Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. We enjoy your paper very much. There are always so many interesting articles. We found the fishhook on page 19 in the Lions Breakfast ad. Carol Weinzierl St. Bonifacius, Minnesota
To the Editor: I certainly enjoyed your editorial last month as well as all of the Gazette. Wonderful! The fishhook is on page 19 in the Lions Pancake Breakfast ad, in the handle of the pitcher. Thank you. Julianne Hennen Eden Prairie, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Thanks for this great paper. I am "hooked" on finding your fishhook. In the February issue it's on page 19 in the Lions Club breakfast ad, on the pitcher. Bernie Joos Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: Guess who's 90 on March 10th! This person likes goulash, spaghetti, lasagna, lemon meringue pie, doublemint gum, BLT's, maple nut ice cream, caramel popcorn, chicken wings, butterscotch candy, John Wayne movies, scrambled eggs and potatoes mixed together, plays golf, like creamed corn and ham with horseradish. Happy B-day, Dad. Dad was born March 10th, 1923, in a Chaska brick house on Walnut Street where Auburn Manor's dining room is today. He's from a family of seven boys and two girls. Dad is third in line. Mom and Dad had seven boys and three girls. I'm the ninth kid. I can still see Grandma's house on that corner. Mom would be at Grandma's digging up potatoes and I'm knocking the dirt off of them and putting them in the bucket. My little brother would only stand a few minutes and then run off. My older brother Dave owned the Mobil station across the highway where Community Bank is now. I'd go check on him. Sure enough, he has his hand in the candy machine trying to get a freebie. My older brother is on the other side installing a muffler, and I'd hear it, "Gerard!" Ma pulls up in the white Oldsmobile. "Come on, let's go," she's saying. The little brother is pouting that he didn't get a Butterfinger bar. Dad would be golfing at Dahlgreen when this happens. Only about forty years ago, when I'm about eight and the little brother about five. Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
