To the Editor: Trust all is well with you and Al. My, how the years go by. This is a story idea in support of the Victoria Vics whom many of us like to watch play at Lions Park in the summer. Bill and Adair Flaherty live on our street here in Deer Run and have a son, Buddy, who now pitches and plays shortstop for Bethel College. He has been playing for the Vics at shortstop. As of late, Buddy has been converted to a pitcher and has stunned the competition with an ERA of under 1 with a 90 mph fastball. He was just named the player of the week in the MIAC (St. Thomas, Carleton, Macalester, Gustavus). Let's hope we can get him back for the 2012 season. We need to attract Buddy and other good players like him to propel our home town team to victory over our traditional rivals. Jim Paulsen Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: As I write this at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 19th, Victoria is Number One in the National Mayors' Challenge for Water Conservation among those in the category for mid sized towns throughout the Midwest. The winning city is being determined by each town's percentage of citizens that take the online pledge to conserve water at mywaterpledge.com. Any age citizen can take the pledge in the nationwide salute to the 40th anniversary of the Clean Water Act. The contest runs from March 30th to April 30th and is being presented by the Wyland Foundation. Founder Robert Wyland is the artist world famous for painting marine scenes featuring whales on buildings around the globe. Vicki Bont Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Here's the choir picture you asked for from your 2011 Christmas Concert. This picture and pictures from previous years have all been emailed to Jamie. It's possible for me to search previous years' photos for you, but with my upcoming travel schedule, that may not happen right away. I fly to Ethiopia and then to four other countries. Have a great spring. Mark McCarthy Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Just a note with my check for another year's subscription. We always look forward to reading the Gazette, even if we only know you and Allan. Also, my avid reader Marlene passed away on March 21st and we always had fun looking for the fishhook and news of your family. Our daughter Sandy enjoys it as well. Keep up the good work as long as you can. Allan Josephson Taunton, Minnesota
To the Editor: Your paper is the best, but I am getting two of them, one under Donna and the other under Dona. Please send the second one to Annette Steinborn at New Germany. Here is $40 for the two. Dona Ebert St. Bonifacius, Minnesota
