May Day. Thursday, May 1st. A traditional day of festivities throughout the centuries. Sometimes May baskets are made and filled with flowers and treats and left at someone's doorstep. The giver rings the bell and runs away.

St. Victoria Rummage Sale. Thursday and Friday, May 8th (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and May 9th (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.), at the St. Victoria Catholic Church. Friday is bag and bargain day.

Waterbrooke Rummage Sale. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, May 15th, 16th, and 17th. Big All-Church Sale at Waterbrooke Fellowship in Victoria, 8725 Church Lake Blvd. Begins each morning at 8 a.m.

Lake Auburn Moravian Yard Sale. Saturday, May 17th, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the church, located on Victoria Drive between Hwy 5 and Hwy 7.

Discover Victoria Day. Saturday, May 17th, at the Victoria Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mother's Day. Sunday, May 11th. celebration honoring mothers and motherhood. An American holiday that also came to be celebrated in other countries.

Property Taxes. Thursday, May 15th. The first half of property taxes are due each year at this time. Total amount paid includes taxes to Carver County, the School District, the City, and other smaller government entities.

Memorial Day. Monday, May 26th. The last Monday in May. A day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. A federal holiday that originated after the American Civil War.

Council Meetings. Monday, May 12th, and Tuesday, May 27th. Usually the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall on Rose Street.
