To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Love keeping in touch with all the happenings you so wonderfully write about. We will be getting to experience this grandparent thing we hear so much about as Leah and Mark are expecting in July. So excited! Happy summer. Judy Novotny Winona, Minnesota.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Hi, Cousin Judy. I'm happy for you and Greg ... and Aunt Sandy.
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Hope all is well. Now that I have seen my first robin of the year (April 7th), I do believe that spring is upon us. One of my winter projects at Deer Run Golf Club was putting together Tom Abt's columns from the Victoria Gazette. I see that I am missing the February 2014 issue. Is there any way I could pick up another issue? Thank you. Heidi Breen, Deer Run Golf Club Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for the nice ad and also the piece in Victoria Moments last month. Got great comments on them. Good job. Nan Emmer Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Happy Mom's Day to all the moms who read the Victoria Gazette and my Aunts Ethel Schneider and Arlene Poppler. I myself am an aunt ten times over. I especially liked the photo on page 35 in the March paper, with the turkey shot of Mike Kraemer and the three lads -- "My Three Sons," Chaska style. The photo was taken in 1992, two years after the three lads were guests in Missy's doghouse. Kathy, Mike's wife, came by the house and Mom taught Kathy about canning tomatoes. The three boys checked out Missy's doghouse. Lance peeks in and says, "Cool fort!" I held onto Missy who was beaming with excitement and my hands were getting calloused holding her chain. I only took one hand off but one hand won't hold a 50-pound springer chocolate lab dog. In the doghouse she goes, Missy giving slobbery kisses to the three lads. They had a springer named Charlie, and Mike's uncle had a springer named Freckles. I still think of that summer of 1990 whenever I see doghouses in the Fleet Farm ads or when I see pictures of a brown and white springer. I taught Missy to give me a high-five, so when I'd say that she would put her paw up. I have a photo I took in 1996 when she was 7. I told Missy to give me five. I shook her paw and I also took a picture of it happening. I taught Missy to hold a biscuit on her nose and then catch it. I'd tell her, "Hold your nose," and she'd catch it. Happy Mom's Day, Sue, Kathy, and all moms. Enjoy your day. Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
