Daylight Savings Time Ends. Sunday, November 4th. Observed from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November. It adds about a month to daylight savings time.
Election Day. Tuesday, November 6th. By an act on Congress it is always observed on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November. Three precincts in Victoria. Find the one that belongs to you.
Veterans Day. Sunday, November 11th, "celebrated" on Monday, November 12th. An official U.S. holiday honoring armed service veterans. President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed Armistice Day for November 11th, 1919. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.
Thanksgiving. Thursday, November 22nd. Celebrated each year on the fourth Thursday of November. President George Washington proclaimed the first nationwide Thanksgiving celebration in America "acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favours of Almighty God."

Victoria City Council Meetings. Tuesday, November 13th (celebrating Veterans Day Nov. 12) and Monday, November 26th. Normally scheduled for the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Victoria City Council Chambers on Rose Street unless otherwise noted.
Annual Community Thanksgiving Service. Not being held in Victoria this November due, more or less, to an ongoing lack of interest. Often the combined choir, who worked on special music for the evening, outnumbered the rest of the people in the pews. |
