The Victoria GAZETTE |
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Still enjoying the Gazette but sure do miss Ethel Ausink. Hope she's doing well. I might just as well add that the fishhook is on page 32 in the Birthright ad. God bless. Sharon Buehler Cologne, Minnesota
To the Editor: I am getting around to paying for my subscription! It was interesting to read in your editorial about the books you and your husband read. I have some of the same books in my collection. Laritta Swanson Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Well, we found the fishhook on page 32 in the Birthright ad. You sure have a wonderful paper and we like to look for the fishhook. Don and LaVerne Happ Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Thanks again for your great paper, full of news, information, and all good stuff. See you. Pat Leonard Eden Prairie, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thanks for continuing to put Mom's quotes in the Gazette. We think of her and Dad every day and they still make us laugh. Found the fishhook. First time I'm sending in. Beginner's luck maybe. Steve Jesberg Minnetonka, Minnesota
To the Editor: This is in regard to an article in the City Scoop pages last month, "Will Victoria trails connect to the underpass at the Arboretum?" It's nice to get grant money, but we do have to match that and more and maintain the trail that it builds. Even though interest rates are low, we already have debt so is this a real need at this time? We already have property by the Dairy Queen. We should be looking at a business park to increase income for the city. We already have enough tax-and-spend government. And we need a new City Hall and Public Works building. What do we really need first, when taking on more debt for the taxpayers to pay off? Just because the interest rate is low, you don't have to borrow more money. Most of us have to live within our incomes. Sandra Dahl Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I enjoyed the article on Father Bernardine. Willy Bongard Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Enclosed is my check for another year of the Gazette. It's a great paper. I found the fishhook on page 32 circling the 'B' in the Birthright ad. Barbara Johnson Sacred Heart, Minnesota
To the Editor: Arbor Day is April 26th. Plant a tree and bury it with plenty of fish guts for fertilizer. At the house we had two locust trees both rotted and diseased in the front yard. Mom and Dad got a new tree but he didn't take the wooden basket off and the basket had bailing wire on it. The tree was only about 18 years old when lightning split it in half. Zap goes the tree. I remember Father Bernardine stopping at Guardian Angels for a visit and he took over in religion class. I remember Father Brennan Schmieg, too, doing that and Father Elstan. Father Elstan was funny. Father Mike, a priest from St. Nick's in Carver, taught us religion in 5th grade. He would ask a question and if it was wrong, or if a boy was trying to be funny, they'd get a tap on the head with the rope on his frock. He'd also tap someone who was disruptive in class or not paying attention. Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
