To the Editor: Hi. I am Coach of the St. Hubert's School Basketball Team in Chanhassen. We have won a basketball tournament and a couple of our players live in Victoria. One parent and Victoria resident, Jon Melander, has requested that we include the announcement in the Gazette. Steve Vakulskas Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Here's to another year! You do a great job with your paper. Hope all is well in Victoria. It's good here in Bemidji. Snow has finally melted. Thanks again. Linda Barcus Bemidji, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. The Gazette gets better and better as Victoria gets bigger and bigger and hopefully better. Will be back there in July for my "coming home" trip to Minnesota. Daniel Schwalbe High Point, North Carolina
To the Editor: The newly appointed chair of the Twin Cities Metropolitan Douncil says a recently completed seven-week, seven-county tour of the metro region is a "good down payment" on his plans to build better working relationships with local government. When Adam Duininck first took the helm of the Metropolitan Council in January, he immediately launched the tour. Duininck is the first to be appointed to the position of full time chair. Some of the Council's operations run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's entirely reasonable to expect the chair to be more fully engaged with the organization. There are nearly 200 local units of government within the seven counties. It's the Council's job to be up to speed on what's going on in the region and be familiar with local decision makers and the issues they're facing. Duininck said transportation was a shared and universal issue. Transportation needs are different everywhere, from safety challenges to railroad crossings, cooperation between Metro Transit and suburban transit providers, and the district needs of the roadway networks all over the metropolitan region. Duininck said local officials had at least one thing in common. They are passionate about their communities and serving the people who live in them. Metropolitan Council St. Paul, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for the dedication to accurate reporting. Tom Strigel Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Would like to subscribe to the Gazette. Could you send me the particulars? We live in Longville, Minnesota. Roseanne Gregory Longville, Minnesota
EDITOR'S NOTE: Amazing how this world spins with overlapping waves. I just wrote in my feature story that the smallest public library in Minnesota is located in Longville. I had never heard of it before and now I have a subscriber from there.
To the Editor: Happy Easter to you, Editor Sue, and all the Gazette readers. Enclosed is a check for the next year. Found the fishhook on page 41 on the tail of the sculpture. Ethel Schneider Shakopee, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I'm deeply sorry but I did not get a chance to write an article for April's issue of the Gazette. This month, as it was the end of the school quarter, was exceptionally busy with several projects, tests, and registering for classes for next year. I'm presuming and hoping that this next quarter, after I return from Spring Break, will not be nearly as busy. Thank you again for always considering me in the Gazette. I'm eager to write another another article. Joe Blake Victoria, Minnesota
