To the Editor: Hi, Sue. My family and I moved to Victoria one and a half years ago. We live in the Gallery and we love the Victoria Gazette and what you do. I would love to chat with you at your convenience. I recently purchased a business and we're based in Victoria out of my home. Please give me a call or let me know if you'd prefer a face to face meeting. Thank you so much. I look forward to hearing from you. Tom Jenkins Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: This year the ice left Upper Lake Auburn on March 28th, 2015. Last year it left on April 19th, 2014. The earliest ever since I have been keeping records was March 8th, 2000. Lake Auburn was named by the Holtmeier and Gerdsen families when they settled here in Carver County in 1854. They built the first two-story duplex in Carver County on the east side of Lake Auburn very near where the Moravian Lake Auburn Home for the Aged once stood which was built in 1929. The first Moravian services were held in this home until a log church was built where the Moravian Church of Lake Auburn's Cemetery now is located. They named Lake Auburn after an area in Cincinnati, Ohio, where they came from, and settled in Laketown Township, Carver County. Ron Holtmeier Waconia, Minnesota
