To the Editor: Thanks for all of your help with the hockey photo. I appreciate it. If it prints, will you please let me know when so I can let the team know when to watch for it? Nikki Maher Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Good morning, Sue. Catholic Aid has changed its name to Catholic United Financial. Could you please make the changes to my ad? Thank you. Carol Lindner Mayer, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you, Sue, for coming into our shop and doing a story in the January issue. Much appreciated. Beth and Michelle The Parlour Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I currently write a monthly water column for the Chaska, Chanhassen, and Waconia papers. I’m unsure if residents of Victoria subscribe to these papers or just the Victoria Gazette. I do not want to overdo the water column, but if you feel it would be a good addition to the Victoria Gazette, I would be happy to include you when I send it out. I send out the column the first of every month and leave it to the paper as to when they will publish it. Please let me know if you are interested . Thank you. Madeline Seveland Water Management Department Carver County, Minnesota
EDITOR’S NOTE: Thank you for thinking of me. Maybe down the road. I’ll give it some consideration.
To the Editor: I just got my copy of the January Gazette and it was really Down Memory Lane by Virginia Stowe. It brought back some fond memories of the Big Brick Public School. I went there from 1944 till 1952. We had six in our class -- three boys and three girls, three righthanders and three lefthanders. And a couple of smart girls! Elaine Klatt went on to be Valedictorian at Waconia High School and Connie Weir went on to be Valedictorian at Minnetonka High School. Not too bad for a small (in number) Victoria Public School. I also loved Virginia’s pictures in “Remember when all girls wore dresses to school” in the January issue. Mrs. Lahr, in the picture, was one of my mentors in life. She taught me from 5th through 8th grades. I will never forget her. Also in the picture was my mother, Mrs. Clarence Schwalbe. Besides being my mother -- who always said to me, “Get a good education; that is something they cannot ever take away from you” -- she started the School Hot Lunch Program in the late ‘40’s or early ‘50’s at Victoria Public School. Again, not too bad! Daniel Schwalbe High Point, North Carolina
To the Editor: Your granddaughter Addie Sue not only is a good at drawing, but now she is into writing! Her “Wance Upon a Time” on page 16 last month was great, and she is also learning to “help the poor.” Snow, snow, go away! We are tired of snow! Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. I found the fishhook on page 33 on the book in the KleinBank ad. Ethel Schneider Shakopee, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hello, Sue. Just wanted to pass some photos and a letter your way. You are always so gracious in asking about my son’s deployments. Hope all is well with you and your family. Mary Pieper Chaska, Minnesota
