To the Editor: Thank you for the awesome work you do with your paper and volunteer work at St. Victoria. I've never found time to search for the fishhook until tonight. You see, I was forced to look for it after asking my wife and daughter during dinner if they ever tried looking for it. To my shock, their response was, "What are you talking about?" My first reaction was disbelief when I heard those words from my own Victoria family. Then, taking a deep breath, I moved on until my daughter, whose interest I caught as I continued reading your lovely paper, yelled out, "That's easy, Dad! It's on page 9 on the end of the fisherman guy with the earmuffs and fishing pole." I replied, "That's so obvious and it doesn't even look real." She returned, "That's why it's it." I spent the next 15+ minutes determined to prove the women of the house wrong, when the REAL fishhook and I stared at each other in victory! I won't share how many debates I win, being the only male in a home of four. The hook is on the ice skater's left foot on page 15. Thanks for starting a new tradition in the Hamilton family. Congratulations to Julianne Ortman for her "Legislator of the Year" award and new role as Deputy Majority Leader. And to Adam Reznick and Brian Radick for their third straight section championship with Holy Family Catholic High School. Also, thank you to Jim Costello, Chuck Freiberg, Jerry Schmieg, and the rest of the Victoria Lions for their dedication and service to our local community. Forever hooked, Joe Hamilton Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: What a great paper! I love the Gazette. Harriet Meuleners got it for me as a gift a few years back. Best gift ever. The fishhook is in the Food 4 Fun ad on the girl skater's leg. Thanks. Marcy Wickenhauser Cologne, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. We were at the Victoria Christmas Concert this year, on December 18th. It was great. What a beautiful and talented piano player you are. We found your fishhook on page 15 in the January Gazette. Your paper is very interesting to read. Leon and Carol Maas St. Bonifacius, Minnesota
To the Editor: Happy Valentine's Day. This winter has been nice but weird. I've lived in Minnesota 46 years and never experienced a winter like this. It will be hard on crops and everything in nature. It saves on heating bills, softener salt, and shoveling, but nature will suffer. Firemen will be busy with grass fires. Weather people say there is a less chance of spring flooding but other problems will "spring" up with lack of moisture and snow. Thanks a bunch, Editor Sue, for sending me a copy of Aunt Frannie and Uncle Ray Schmieg sitting on their riding lawnmowers in the days when they cut grass at St. Victoria. It was framed and hung up the day I got it. Their family went through kegs of moo juice like our family, only they had three more kids than we did. We had 10 in a four-bedroom house. Franny had 13 in her nest. Your fishhook is on page 15. Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
