The Victoria GAZETTE |
To the Editor: Hello, Sue. We were at the Victoria House for dinner Saturday evening and I reminded myself to contact you regarding the ad for Valentine’s Day dinner specials at the Victoria House these past two years. The phone number in the ad was ours, not theirs. Not a problem, since we directed the callers to the correct number. I think they were pretty busy! The Victoria House phone number is 952-443-2858. Thanks. Always enjoy reading the Gazette. Peg Overturf Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Loved your family pictures last month. I need to take more pictures of my family. I loved all the encouragement in the Gazette to the community to shop Fresh Seasons. I read your wonderful paper and got in my car and drove to Fresh Seasons and did not only weekly shopping but bulk shopping. Taylor read the articles, too, and drove to Fresh Seasons and did all his shopping for a big road trip. I love getting the Victoria Gazette and reading it from cover to cover. Thank you for keeping us all up to date each month. Your paper keeps so many of us connected in our wonderful town. You are a blessing in our lives. Mary Meuwissen Counselor Realty Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Sheriff Byron Bud Olson and Chief Deputy Robert Rob VanDenBroeke are retiring after 68 cumulative years of dedicated service to communities and citizens. Sheriff Olson: Wayne State Police Department, Detroit, MI; St. Paul Park Police Department, MN; Minnetonka Police Department, MN; and Carver County Sheriff’s Office, MN. Chief Deputy VanDenBroeke: Marshall Police Department, MN; Pipestone Police Department, MN; and Carver County Sheriff’s Office, MN. Join us at a gathering on December 29th from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the Emergency Operations Center to wish them happiness with their future venture and recognize their distinguished careers. Carver County Sheriff’s Office Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: The Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota has been hearing from cell phone users in the Twin Cities metropolitan area about recorded calls they’re receiving saying their Visa cards have been deactivated and they will be unable to make purchases or cash withdrawals. From there, consumers are prompted to enter their account information. This is a scam. People should not provide the requested information or ever share sensitive financial information with unknown parties. The number showing up on people’s caller IDs is 952-563-7000. When we called the number, a recorded message said, “We’re sorry, all circuits are busy now.” If you receive a call or message from this number, you should disregard it. Dan Hendrickson, Communications Better Business Bureau St. Paul, Minnesota
