To the Editor:

Wishing you and Al many blessings and success in 2011!

I wanted to ask you before we left for Florida if you could send the Gazette to our Florida address.  We do not want to miss a single copy of your great newspaper.  Always fun to read of the goings on from home.  Let me know what additional cost there may be for sending it there.

Also wanted to tell you thank you for your weekly commitment at the piano for St. Victoria.  You do a great job and you are hardly noticed behind the post.  Our last Sunday Mass we sat opposite the piano and watched you play with such enthusiasm.

The weather finally has turned warm here.  The sun shone every day except once since we left Victoria.  That is always important.  It’s so nice, in fact, that last night we watched our first fireworks on the beach.  It was 7:30 p.m. and lasted 30 minutes and it was great.  We both had a difficult time getting up off the sand.  Tough to get old.

Thanks again.  See you in May.                  Love,

         Bonnie Fritz

         Naples, Florida

EDITOR’S NOTE:  Hi, Bonnie.  About getting up off the beach, I’ve seen a trick.  First you roll over and get on all fours, then you use all fours to get upright.  Be careful which end you point where.  Hello to Ron.

To the Editor:

I apologize for neglecting to say this at my last city council meeting December 13th.  While I sincerely appreciate the efforts of the Victoria City Staff, you are truly one of the “unsung heroes” involved with the city.

Throughout my time on the Council, you have always been there.  Your dedication and reporting is truly a benefit to the community.  When you combine it with the darn camera of yours being at almost every community event, your tireless efforts are truly a credit to you and the City of Victoria.  I also want to acknowledge Allan since he also sacrifices by having you gone at times to cover the city.

A belated thank you for all you do, and I wish you continued success and happiness now and in the future.

         God bless.

         Tim Amundsen

         Victoria, Minnesota

EDITOR’S NOTE:  Thank you, Tim.  I’ll miss you on the City Council.  Jim, too.
