Engaged. Rachel Weber of Backus, MN, and Travis Wheeler of Longville, MN, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage. Rachel is the daughter of Jody Weber and John Tuchtenhagen of Backus and the late Michael H. Weber of Victoria. Travis is the son of Todd and Laura Wheeler of Longville. Becca Friestleben, daughter of Michael Friestleben of Victoria, graduated from Winona State University this past May 2013. Becca finished up her career on the women's basketball team with a total of 1,184 points. She now holds the school record for 3-pointers in a game with 9 vs. Bemidji State, 3-pointers made in a season with 103, and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) for 3-pointers made in a season with 70 (previous record was 60). In November 2012, Becca was named Most Valuable Player at the North Star Invitational in Fairbanks, Alaska. She was also on the All Conference, second team for the NSIC. Finally, Becca was one of the top 3-point shooters in the nation for Division II women's basketball, shooting almost 42%. Michael Friestleben Victoria, Minnesota
Teaming Up for Hunger. The Chanhassen 8th grade boys traveling basketball teams teamed up to fight hunger on November 26th, 2013, at Feed My Starving Children in Chanhassen. The boys hand-packed 64 boxes, which is equivalent to 13,824 meals for children and adults in countries all over the world.
