To the Editor: Happy Holidays, Sue. I was wondering if there is a way to get your November issue of the Gazette for my dear friend's husband was in it. I live in Laketown. My kiddo is the swimmer that you were so kind to include in the Gazette about his zone championship in Topeka last summer. My friend used to live here but moved away. The November Gazette is a Christmas present for her husband. She's going to frame the article about the Laketown Golf Tournament. Sybil Druce Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hello. My dad wanted me to submit two write-ups to the Gazette about my sister Becca and myself. I attached what he has written. I also included two pictures of Becca in her Winona State jersey, both her white jersey and her black jersey as I don't know which would work best in the paper. Thank you. Allyson Friestleben Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor:- I am sure you are too busy to read all the emails you may receive. I thought you might enjoy this one, as your parents are close to my age. I hope you read it. Have a very merry Christmas with your family. I truly believe you are an exceptional editor, lady, wife, and mother who loves her family dearly. My son Scott came in from Oregon. He is a Navy veteran with a great war and peace record. He just loves Floyd's and the City of Victoria. Mal MacAlpine Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Victoria is a great place to live and play and we also want it to be a great place to work. Home based businesses are an important component to the Victoria business community and we want to make sure your needs are met. The City of Victoria and the Victoria Business Association are hosting a Home-based Business meeting on Thursday, January 9th at City Hall. We will have a special guest, Lee Hall, from Open to Business. This is a free resource to help you to grow your business. They offer business consulting and loans through the Carver County Community Development Agency. Also, if you have a service or product you would like to provide to new residents, we are starting a Hello Neighborhood program next year. You can bring 100 items such as brochures, samples, coupons, business cards with you to the meeting or bring them to City Hall before January 9th if you are unable to attend. Best wishes. Holly Kreft Community Development Director City of Victoria, MN
To the Editor: I have a request. My dad Thom Derr wrote several articles for the paper. I am sure you have probably heard that he passed away last weekend. I was wondering if it is possible to get copies of the articles he wrote. I would very much like to give them to my sister who lives in California and never knew he did that. I am sure you know he was not techno savvy, so I am sure it is no surprise that the articles are not saved on a computer at his house. I actually live in Richfield and unfortunately have not seen them all either. I have looked online and there are just parts of the articles archived on your website, unless I am not finding them correctly. I would be very grateful for any help you can give and would gladly pay a fee for them if I need to. Please let me know. Thanks very much. Sarah (Derr) Hook Richfield, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for the reply and condolences. Claudia does have all the columns. She found them in Dad's desk so we are going to put them together in a book at a later time. We are thankful the choir sang at the service. He was always active in a church choir, a truly meaningful part of his life. Sarah Hook Richfield, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I am sorry but due to budget cuts we are going to have to discontinue our subscription to the Victoria Gazette. Please close the Lake Minnetonka Communications Commission's account. Thank you. Sue Paurus Lake Mntka Communications Commission Administrative Assistant
