Same Street, Same Day, Same Time. It was Thursday, June 18th, 2009, when Quamoclit Street, partly under construction in downtown Victoria, was bombarded with trucks in an unusual visual for the small hamlet. It’s not often that any street in downtown Victoria bears four trucks simultaneously. Their destination? The back service door of Fresh Seasons Market.
Jerry Burns Visits Holy Family. Former Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Jerry Burns made a visit to the Holy Family Football Camp featuring Rich Gannon, a resident of Victoria. Burns said to the campers, “You are blessed to be able to attend this camp. 1st Place Times Three! The Chaska 10AAA Baseball Team took 1st Place in the 2009 Edina Baseball Tournament in June. Of four tournaments they played this year, they have taken 1st Place three times and 2nd Place once. Additionally, they have lost only one game all year between tournament and regular season play. Hugly Gifts. Mary Perrine (not pictured), who is a history and language arts teacher, and her 6th grade students from Chaska Middle School East presented Ridgeview Medical Center Ambulance with 100 handmade huggable Hugly Bears to give to young patients who are sick, hurt, or scared. Tourney Shiners. Proving to be a tournament team, the Chaska 13AA Hawks took home the consolation trophy at the Edina Classic. After dropping the opener to the host Hornets, Chaska went on to pound out 33 hits in wins over Apple Valley and Richfield.
