Letters Continued |
Dedicated to the sunshine of truth, the moonshine of meeting deadlines, and the starshine of Victoria. |
To the Editor: Again, many thanks for the many years that you have been saving stamps for our stamp club. You can be proud that you have made a bunch of kids very happy. If you so desire, you may save for me the stamp I used on this letter. Uncle Ron Holtmeier, Correspondent Lake Minnetonka Stamp Club Wayzata, Minnesota
To the Editor: My name is Gary Thompson, oldest son of Tommy and Jeanne Thompson. Thank you so much for the wonderful article you wrote about my parents. And thank you to Mary Mitchell Wallace for her sincere efforts in contacting you about doing their story. On behalf of my brother and sister, we very much appreciate our parents being recognized and know how much the article means to them. They really deserve it, as they most certainly know how grateful their children are for all the sacrifices they have made for us. The support and encouragement each of us kids received from our parents made our chosen career paths possible -- especially mine, I think, for if Mom and Dad hadn't moved to Lake Minnetonka, and specifically Smithtown Bay, and connected us with the ski club, including key people like Al Tolefson, my opportunity in competitive water skiing followed by professional water skiing would just not have happened. Those decisions in my case, along with their ongoing commitment to water skiing, set me on a career path and lifestyle I enjoy to this day. Thanks again. Gary Thompson Smokey Mountains, Tennessee
To the Editor: Hi. My name is Annelies. I am 12 years old and sell veggies for Feed My Starving Children. I've been doing it for about two years. I'm wondering if you would do an article about it in your newspaper so I can tell more people. My Facebook page is Veggies for FMSC. Thanks. Annelies Vandeputte Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: This is an invitation to all Carver County Leaders. The next step in providing supplemental transportation service to Carver County is fast approaching. On Tuesday, June 24th, at the Chaska Community Center, you will have the opportunity to provide valuable assistance to WeCAB's efforts to make supplemental transportation service available in Carver County. In order for us to plan for this meeting, we need you to RSVP at your earliest convenience. Please let us know your interest and intentions for attending. Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to seeing you there. WeCAB (Community Area Busing) is a network of volunteers whose mission is to provide safe, affordable, flexible, and supplemental transportation for medical appointments, shopping local businesses, worship services, community services, errands, and access to Metro Transit. LuAnn Fransen, Program Director Mound, Minnesota
To the Editor: Lake Auburn's friend and neighbor, the Rev. Jim Engel, entered the more immediate presence of the Lord on Sunday, June 15th. There was a viewing at Iten Funeral Home in Watertown on June 23rd with a Memorial Service at Lake Auburn Moravian Church in Victoria on June 24th. Let us remember with grateful hearts the kind and joyful witness that brother Engel was for his Lord and Savior. Pastor Brian Dixon Lake Auburn Moravian Church Victoria, Minnesota To the Editor: My schedule this month has been hectic, to say the least, with painting Marissa's house, watching Austin and helping with Owen. I leave Victoria at 8 a.m. this morning to pick up Owen from Bible Camp, near our cabin. Then Pam, Marissa, and Austin join us through Tuesday. I'm afraid the Up North Cabin Guy might have to be on vacation from the Gazette for the first time in four years this month. I'll give you a call when I arrive at the cabin this morning. God bless. Miss seeing you and Allan. Oh, looks like my retirement won't last long. I've interviewed to assist a new architectural firm and will be joining them in an initial meeting up north. Chuck Freiberg Up North Cabin Guy Victoria, Minnesota
