Katie Miller of Victoria was recently the recipient of the AFAA Award, given to selected individuals by the nonprofit association Anaphylaxis and Food Allery Association of Minnesota for outstanding achievements, extraordinary volunteerism, and Saving a Life. Katie received the award jointly with two others. The above photo was taken at the AFAA Banquets Awards dinner held at Jimmy's Food and Cocktails in Minnetonka. In the photo is Dennis Douda, left, TV anchor, reporter, and writer, who presented the award, and recipients (l-r) Katie Miller of Victoria, Andrew Gray, and Kathryn Kmit. Katie drove a great distance to a family's home to deliver a life-saving age-appropriate formula to save a baby, and delivered enough for the child to consume throughout a weekend and into the week when red tape prevented access to the formula. All three recipients of the AFAA award stand out in such efforts in the category of Saving a Life. Nona Narvaez/Jeff Schaefer AFAA founders St. Paul, Minnesota
