To the Editor:

We are hoping to launch a Women of Victoria group. We are in the conception stage of this venture and we are looking for your input and perhaps involvement. We have met twice and will continue to meet every second Wednesday. Our vision so far for this group is to create community connections through networking, community service, etc., as well as unite, support, and promote each other and the community. There is certainly power in women. If this resonates with you at all, please join us at our next meeting. Thank you so much for your time and make it an amazing day.

To the Editor:

Greetings all golfers in Gazette Land. It finally snowed here and it's good for the golf course. Because the ground is hard, rain would have just run off, but the snow will sink in and provide some much needed moisture. The turf is healthy. Last winter we had snow before the ground froze, which just set up a greenhouse for mold. Nice. We have none of those issues this winter. The turf should be good when we open. In fact, we're still planning on opening in March, not March 1st but probably more like March 25th but still in March!

To the Editor:

I am deeply saddened to report the death of Maxine Benton on February 23rd, 2012, after a two and a half year battle with tongue cancer. She is survived by husband Michael of 27 years. Her mother is Verna Miller of Waconia and her brother is Robert Miller of Texas. Services are at the Moravian Church of Lake Auburn in Victoria on March 3rd, at 2 p.m. Memorials are preferred to Head, Neck, Throat Cancer Research at mayor Clinic in Rochester.
