The Victoria Gazette Archives Past issues are pushing up daisies at www.VictoriaGazette.com |
To the Editor: Normally we don’t submit so many details from our hockey season, but in this case it’s more of a story and not just a recap of the season. Many people in Victoria knew Bill Mork from the hockey association and also because his brother Frank is a Victoria resident. The Victoria residents from our team made a special point of asking that the story be included in the Gazette. Thanks again. Kristi Jackson Chaska, Minnesota
EDITOR’S NOTE: My heart goes out to the family and team of Coach Bill Mork.
To the Editor: Have you ever done a story in the Gazette on the history of the water ski factory business? I am working on the downtown waterfront park and I am thinking about trying to research some of the early uses of the area. I could try to get in touch with the Notermann family who owned the business. Also, I think that I recall a story you did on the Heutmaker property which was the area where the boat ramp is today. Did you do an article on that area as well? If you recall either of the subjects in past stories in the Gazette, could you let me know if there are records? Thanks for any help that you can give me. Keep up the great work. Terry Hartman Hartman Communities Victoria, Minnesota
EDITOR’S NOTE: I featured Dalles and Karen Notermann and the Ski Factory in the July 2007 issue of the Gazette. See my online archives to find the story.
To the Editor: As always, I continue to enjoy your paper. You truly have the gift. My dear Gilbert died June 27th, 2008, so you need to change the name on my address label. Thank you for keeping me connected to Victoria. Betty Werner Delafield, Wisconsin
To the Editor: My husband and I always see who gets the Gazette first. Once in a while we can even read about some of Richard’s relatives. Oh it’s a great paper, and I can’t believe the price stayed the same! Our regular paper here in Bradenton has stayed the same price but is only half of what it used to be. So, good job, Sue. God bless. Arlene and Richard Poppler Bradenton, Florida
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. What a fun paper! And what a neat family you have. We’re all fine here, healthy and busy, and that’s good. Take care. A blessed Easter to you. John and Kathy Oertel Stillwater, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. In spite of the weather, the Gazette arrives. In spite of the weather, I’m still enjoying my Tuesdays and Fridays at Mass in Victoria and my Victoria friends. Great job on the Gazette. Many thanks. Connie Borak Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: There was a neat item on Page B3 of the Star Tribune on April 7th about the Rev. Peg Chamberlin. Peg is a Moravian from Waconia and is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C.N. Bean. Dr. Bean has been retired for some years and had been on the staff of Lakeview Clinic. Ron Holtmeier Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I am mailing payment for a gift subscription to the Victoria Gazette and am wondering when to tell recipient to expect delivery to begin. When does the paper come out each month? Thank you for your assistance. Jane Wellens via email
