To the Editor: Hello. My name is Kelli Brenny. I am a third grade teacher at Victoria Elementary School. I am writing to let you know that Victoria Mayor Tom O'Connor will be coming to speak to the 3rd graders at our school on Friday, October 4th, at 3:00 p.m. Currently, the 3rd grade is learning about Government in Social Studies. We are excited to have the mayor of Victoria visit our school and share his knowledge with our 3rd graders. We would welcome any visitors from the Gazette and be happy to provide more information if needed. You do a wonderful job of highlighting and supporting the Victoria community. I would be happy to take pictures and submit anything of relevance to you. Kelli Brenny Victoria Elementary Teacher
To the Editor: Hello there. My name is Ben. My friend Meryl and I recently started making some infographics for fun. I'm a statistician and she's a graphic designer, and we thought it would be cool to try to make some high quality graphics for smaller markets. We've attached one specific to Carver County. It visualizes where people who moved to Carver County, according to the census, came from. We think it's pretty fun and interesting to examine so I hope you get a chance to look at it. We're looking to sell it to the Victoria Gazette for a pretty small fee. If you are willing to pay a little more, then we can make it exclusive to the Gazette and not sell graphics to any other paper in Carver County. Please let us know if you are interested. To the Editor: Marv found the fishhook 10 minutes after he started reading the Gazette. I had been looking for hours! I finally quit. He laughed and then he told me to look on page 25. I said, "Those are just library pictures." Then I saw it around the caption of the second picture. That was funny because I thought that guy looked like Jim Waldack who was my supervisor at Preferred Products when I worked there, and so I had looked several times at that photo. I wonder if it is Jim. He passed away last year I believe it was. Marlys Timm Loretto, Minnesota
To the Editor: A big thank you to the city, the citizens, and the businesses of Victoria who were so kind, friendly, considerate, and generous in allowing us to film a web TV series pilot for Soul Survivors TV. I'm very grateful we could do so to save money for our slim budget as well as to promote this fine, friendly, fair city I also wanted to be sure you knew how much I appreciate your newspaper and how well it's written, but mostly all the love that shine from its pages. The Gazette has helped me greatly in getting to know the wonderful citizens of Victoria, as I've only been a resident for a year. Thank you to everyone who had been so kind and helpful, even the drivers who stop for me as I cross Hwy 5 because I am always walking everywhere. I can tell you're wonderful. I just love small towns and wanted to be near my church, which is in Chanhassen. I was living in South Dakota previously, but have lived all over the country from Hawaii to New York City, Portland, Oregon, to Louisiana, and many more places. I think Victoria, Minnesota, is the greatest place I've ever lived. I'll ask photographers to get a photo for you from the photo shoot. Thank you so much for your interest in Soul Survivors TV.
