All Saints Day. Friday, November 1st. Many churches in the United States celebrate All Saints Day to honor all the saints, known and unknown. First reference to this general feast day occurred in 373 A.D. The day, November 2nd, is All Souls Day.

Daylight Savings Time. Daylight savings time ended at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 3rd. Clocks are turned back to what they were eight months ago.

Election Day. Tuesday, November 5th. It occurs each year on the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November. Election for federal office occurs in even-numbered years. In 2013 the election involves two referendum ballot questions for Eastern Carver County Schools.

Veterans Day. Monday, November 11th. An official United States holiday which honors people who have served in the Armed Service. It is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended World War I hostilities.

Thanksgiving Day. Thursday, November 28th. The fourth Thursday of November, proclaimed a national holiday by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863 in the midst of the Civil War.

City Council Meetings. Tuesday, November 12th, and Monday, November 25th. Scheduled for the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m.
