Victoria Gazette-Hook Line & Sinker

When we swallow everything hook line and sinker, we're either dumb, naive, innocent, unsuspecting, gullible or an unfortunate mix of all of the above. When it comes to idle chatter about the weather or the next dinner menu, I swallow nearly everything because I don't anticipate lies and jokes. When it comes to conversation that is not ordinary, like when we touch upon politics or religion, my sensibilities perk up and I swallow very little because I do anticipate lies and jokes. And so, unless we're talking to birds of a feather, we give up certain topics of conversation. Be that as it may, sooner or later we all give up the ghost. Sounds like I'm writing this on Halloween and I am -- between responding to ghosts and goblins who are ringing my doorbell.

Let's see now, where was I! Oh yes, I was filling Hook Line and Sinker space until I get to the exciting moment of identifying the winner of this monthly drawing. I stuck my hand into the minnow bucket and pulled our Dianne Prieditis, a name from the past when our sons were in school together here in District 112. She found the hook hanging on every word being whispered at the Chanhassen Library. Is it still against the rule to talk outloud in a library? The ten bucks is on its way, Dianne.
