To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  I like McDonald's fish sandwiches too.  Found the fishhook on page 8 in the October issue of the Gazette at the bottom of the ghost.

         Amy Hammers, Carver, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  It's Steve Carr.  Last month I was the Find The Fishhook winner.  I don't think I ever sent my address.  I live at Madelyn Creek.  I love your columns and McDonald's fish sandwiches, by the way.

         Steve Carr, Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Thank you so much for your support of Victoria Library events.  Here's something fun for the kids and grandkids -- a Holiday Time Children's Book Exchange to promote the love of reading and the library.  It's free, and sponsored by the Friends of the Victoria Library.  There will be a big gift box to "Give a Book, Get a Book."  Drop one or more children's books in the box, then come back anytime from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 1st (Christmas in Victoria Day) to pick up your "New to You" read for the kids.

         Debbie Johnson, Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Thanks for the nice picture of me and Al in your October paper.  I found the fishhook on page 8.  Just send the $1,000 to me anytime.

         Bob Gerlicher, Shorewood, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Thank you for the article and pictures about son Daniel playing with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra in September.  Wish I could have been there for the dinner and concert.

         Dennis Orsen, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Jim and I wanted to thank you for printing his press release about "Home of the Brave" and now his Emmy Award Winning Documentary, in the September issue.  We were so excited to see it in the Victoria Gazette.  You are the best.  Thanks again and take care.

Lois and Jim Hansel, Chaska, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Happy Thanksgiving!  The guys, all full and tired, sit back and watch football.  Gals in the kitchen and the grandkids are scattered all over.  Some take a nap.  Some of the guys are playing cribbage or straining the brain at the Star Tribune's crossword puzzle.  I'd be in another area keeping an eye on the grandkids, listening to the funny things they'd say, and taking pictures of them.  They're not little anymore.

The oldest grandkid, Sarah, is 49 in January 2019.  The youngest, Reid, will be 27.  She's my youngest brother Gerry's daughter.  I can still see them as toddlers.  In December 2018 we have a first great great grandson coming up.  My brother Greg will be Grandpa.

The fishhook is on page 8 in the ad for Victoria's Halloween Party.

         Kay Meuwissen, Richfield, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Hope you have totally recovered from your very, very serious accident in Ireland.  As always, I enjoy reading the Victoria Gazette.  You are such an inspiration and I know you totally enjoy publishing the Gazette.  Thank you.

         Alice English, Chanhassen, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Thank you for your hard work in keeping the Gazette alive and well.  I love it!

         Jean Worth, Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor:

I'd like to let you know that Dave Beneke and Jerry Hartman have retired as chairs of Classic Car Nights for the Victoria Business Association.  We are in the process of finding some passionate volunteers to take up the cause to keep the event in good shape.

Dave and Jerry have done an absolutely amazing job along with the late Randy Miller on the last 72 shows.  They are looking forward now to driving their rides to Victoria in the future rather than herding the rest of us along.  As you may know, the VBA and the event chairs are all unpaid volunteers comprised of local business owners, dedicated employees, and passionate citizens of our lovely Victoria.  They work hard to make it a better place to live, work, and visit.

Interested residents and others are invited to contact me.

Joe Lieser, President VBA, j.lieser@kleinbank.com, Victoria, MN
