by Sue Orsen The first two are running for Mayor of Victoria; vote for one. The next four are running to serve with him on the Victoria City Council; vote for two. Size up the six-pack and cast your votes accordingly! We can thank these six candidates for stepping up to the plate. Being a member of the Victoria City Council is sometimes a thankless task, especially when faced with criticism or a lawsuit. It is also sometimes a very rewarding task, as when they see a project through to completion whether that project be a street reconstruction, a new city hall, or a balanced city budget. I am happy to do my own work for the citizens of Victoria, which includes attending city council meetings and reporting extensively every single month on what is said and done at every single city council meeting. It is a responsibility I do not take lightly. Part of my job in an election year is to help inform Victoria residents about the candidates who are running for city office. To that effort, I asked the candidates for background information and I submitted additional questions, altogether numbering a baker's dozen. Their replies here in the Gazette help us to size up the six-pack.
Candidate replies are in the paper issue of the Gazette.
