The Victoria GAZETTE |
To the Editor: We look forward to receiving the Victoria Gazette at our new address. Jim and Sue Grahn Mora, Minnesota
To the Editor: Andrew Tschimperle died August 1st, 1993. I am his widow and never changed the name on the Gazette label in all these years. The place has now been sold and I am enclosing my new address. I’ve enjoyed the paper all these years but find it unusual that although two Tschimperle brothers settled in the Victoria area over 100 years ago, there is very very little mention of their ancestors in your paper. Eleanor Tschimperle Port Angeles, Washington
To the Editor: Father Bob from St. Victoria has been joking that young adults and others are being bribed into checking out the area’s new Sunday evening 6:15 Mass at Guardian Angels in Chaska. It’s true. About a fourth of our parishioners come from Victoria. I like to think of the free malt as an evangelizing tool for practicing Christians, inviting family members, friends, and colleagues to explore the Catholic Christian Church, perhaps returning after some time away. Make a Sunday evening of it. Invite someone to eat with you at Tommy’s Malt Shop, the popular new malt shop in Chaska near the Minnesota River, two block from Guardian Angels, and then suggest including a visit beforehand to the 6:15 p.m. Mass at G.A. Wherever people are in their journey with Christ, they are welcome, including Christians of all traditions. Over 350 have been coming. Tell readers of the Gazette to check it out, invite others, and enjoy a malt with the coupon handed out at the end of Mass. Father Paul Jarvis Guardian Angels Catholic Church Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thanks, Sue, for putting our announcement in your Gazette. We also want to thank our family, our relatives, and our friends for making our 50th wedding anniversary party a very special and memorable day. We were deeply moved by your presence at our celebration and genuinely appreciate the numerous cards and well wishes. We also want to express our gratitude for your generous monetary and food donations that were presented to the CAP Agency and Love, Inc. And thanks to my sister Jo who did an amazing job on our video. Jerome and Darlene Williams Shakopee, Minnesota
To the Editor: Customers have said so many nice things regarding your Ave Maria story and your Dakota trip. I thought I was right with you on trip to Dakota, you wrote it so vividly. Jan Olinger Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I am writing about a recent incident in Victoria that makes me very sad. For several generations, our family has shared a love of giraffes. Because of this, my parents Ross Johnson and Dr. Laura Menser Johnson created a giraffe Adirondack chair as a donation to Victoria’s Volksfest and Art Fair. The chair was put on display outside of the Dungey and Menser Dental Office in Victoria. Sometime during the night of Thursday, August 19th, it was stolen. A lot of time and love went into creating this chair. If the person who took the chair still has it, I wish they would provide for its return. If anyone has information concerning the chair’s whereabouts, please call the Dungey-Menser office at 952-443-2816 to collect a reward upon its return. Thank you. Lydia Lorine Johnson Chaska, Minnesota
