WE THREE KINGS.  The three of them -- father, mother, and son -- have a story to tell much like the three wise men in the Bible.  Jeff, Renee, and Justin live in Shakopee.  They write to us here at Lake Auburn:

"We love to tell the story of what God has done in our lives with regard to our son Justin.  He weighed 1 lb. 5 oz. at birth and was almost four months early.  He is a delight although he is blind and developmentally delayed.  We have been shown through Justin that all of us have a purpose in God's eyes.  We sing gospel, southern gospel, and some oldies you may remember.  We look forward to meeting you and being able to share our story on Sunday, April 7th, at the 10:30 a.m. Joint Service with 'We Three Kings' at the Lake Auburn Moravian Church in Victoria."

Justin, a bright young man, sings along with his parents, plays the harmonica, and recites Bible verses.  The public is invited to join us at Lake Auburn.

MYAS GRADE STATE TOURNAMENT RUNNER-UP.  The Chanhassen 8A boys basketball team ended their travel basketball careers by taking 2nd place in the A1 Division of the MYAS Grade State Championships played March 9th/10th at Farmington High School.

The team came into the tournament as the 14-seed and started the tourney with three consecutive upsets over high ranked opponents to reach the final.  In the opener, the Storm played the CLM Spartans who were the 3-seed and regarded by many as the top team in the state.  The contest was very physical and heated with the Storm prevailing 57-53 in a pressure-packed game.

The team came out firing Game 2 by jumping out to a 20-2 lead and holding steady for a 65-46 win over the sixth seeded Westside Boosters (St. Paul).

The semifinal featured a matchup with Bloomington Jefferson who was seeded seventh with a season record of 30-5.  The Storm overcame injuries and an early deficit to win 59-46.  They finished the game on a 26-7 run to win what was a tight game most of the way

The championship game was a matchup against Wayzata (4-seed).  The teams had split two games during the regular season.  The Trojans prevailed in the rubber match, ending the magical run.  In six years of travel ball, most of this group won two state championships along with the runner-up finish.  The team finished the season with a record of 25-15.
