Victoria Gazette - Calendar of Events

April Fools Day. Monday, April 21st. Observed throughout the Western world. Practices include pranks and hoaxes on other people. Some say it's related to the turn of season. Others believe it started when switching from the Julian to Gregorian calendar.

Lions Fish Fry. Friday, April 5th. At the Lions Park Pavilion. 4:30 to 8 p.m. All you can eat fish, beans, roll, and potato salad.

Car Seat Checks. At the Victoria Fire Station, Saturday, April 6th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Free event. Check booster seats and car seat installation.

City Council Meetings. Monday, April 8th, and Monday, April 22nd.

Palm Sunday. Sunday, April 14th. Marks the beginning of Holy Week. Commemorates the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem, riding on a donkey and people greeting him with palm leaves.

Lions Easter Egg Hunt. Saturday, April 20th. In Lions Park at the South Shleter next to Poppitz Field. Starts at 9:00 a.m. Children ages 10 and under. Donuts and coffee for adults.

Good Friday. Friday, April 19th. Commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ.

Easter. Sunday, April 21st. The greatest feast day. Celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Established as the first Sunday after the full moon following the vernal equinox of the northern hemisphere.

Lions Spring Fling. Friday, April 26th. 6:00 p.m. Lions Park Pavilion. Local food and beverage vendors on hand. Live entertainment by Ragtown.
