REPRESENTING VICTORIA. Randy Maluchnik and Tom Workman -- the two Carver County Commissioners representing Victoria residents (and others) -- met in February in Washington DC with Minnesota Congressman Tom Emmer to talk about funding for State Highway 5. If I've got it correct, Randy represents Victoria residents who live south of Hwy 5, and Tom represents Victoria folks who live north of Hwy 5. Thanks for the photo, guys. ~Editor Sue Orsen
VICTORIA IN 1990. Hi, Sue. Here's something for Throwback Thursday. Sure miss Al Folden and good old Aunt Martha. Al is the one who encouraged me to take the Civil Service Exam, as Celeste Aretz was retiring from the Victoria Post Office and he would be hiring someone. I took the test and got 94.5% so got at the top of his hiring list so he could hire me. It worked out well. Then I transferred to Chanhassen after a few years as Bud Vogel wanted me there and I was guaranteed more hours. Then I got the Postmaster job in Loretto and the rest is history. Been retired 12 years already. Wow, it's hard to believe. See you at the Victoria Lions Fish Fry. Marlys Timm (and Marvin), Loretto, Minnesota
